SKELETON COAST PARK Roughly covering a third of Namibia's coastline, the legendary Skeleton Coast Park stretches from the Ugab river in the south to the Kunene River in the north. Entry to this park is highly restricted and carefully controlled. The Skeleton Coast is infamous for its treacherous sandbanks to which many ships have fallen prey. A number of shipwrecks are testimony to past tragedies. Day visitors who only want to drive through the park, may obtain a permit at the entrance gates at Ugabmond and Springbokwasser. Day visitors are not permitted to visit Torra Bay or Terrace Bay. Day visitors are not allowed to enter the park later than 15h00 and have to leave the park before 17h00. Open throughout the year.
