The canyon is situated in the south of Namibia, 200 km south-west of Keetmanshoop.

Open throughout the year.  Acces from sunrise to sunset.

Fish River Hiking trail
The trail starts from the main viewpoint and ends at Ai-Ais.  It is approx. 80 km long and takes 4-5 days to complete.
Open from 15 April to 15 September.
Groups of min. 3 and max. 40 persons.  No children under 12 permitted.  Reservations should be made well in advance. 
Hikers have to report at the Hobas office before starting the hike.  They have to submit a recent medical certificate of fitness and complete an indemnity form. 
Own transport to the start of the hike and from the end must be arranged.
Own food, water and equipment must be provided.
